The association was registered as a non-profit organization in 2009, with the aim of supporting he development of family, small and medium-sized business in Haskovo region, to co-operate for accumulating new ideas, exchange of information and experience from the developed market societies with the aim to decrease of unemployment in the region, to support the non-government sector and to create favorable conditions for its development.

The Federation of Professional, Craft and Trade Associations of Evros (OEBES Evros) is a secondary professional organization (federation) founded in 1945. Members of the federation are the primary trade unions, of bakers, tavern and café owners, shopkeepers, retailers, electricians, plumbers, hairdressers and grocers of the Prefecture of Evros in Greece. The aims of the organization are to claim, preserve, study, and promote the common economic, social and professional interest of its members in the service of the community as a whole.

The overall objective of the project is to ensure the establishment of a Trans-border Bio-area for agriculture, stock breeding and aquacultures and secure its sustainable functioning as a pilot model for other organizations and companies in the region and other trans-border regional programmes
The specific objectives of the project are related to:
1)To conduct a research on the bio-organic agriculture, stock breeding and aquaculture industries in the trans-border region and outline the perspectives and problems for their development.
2)To investigate and promote in the project’s target regions working sustainable bio-area practices.
3)To elaborate bio area map suited to the Trans-border region’s needs, statute and founding documents pertaining to the governance of the area, financial stability plan, 5 year business strategy plan for governing body structure plan.
4)To promote the idea of trans-border bio-area in compliance with the developed map and strategy and to involve as many as possible participants in the initiative.
5)To popularize the bio area activities to the general public to further promote the partner approach in bio-agriculture and increase the cumulative effect of such approach.
The focus of the project and its activities allow a wide range of stakeholders from the cross-border region to improve their skills and knowledge at a time convenient to them, thus increasing the opportunities for the development of organic products in both countries, based on two main approaches:
1) To promote entrepreneurial culture thereby affecting the rates of new businesses formation in the field of the bio farming in the CB area;
2. To strengthen the factors affecting entrepreneurial success, thereby affecting long-term success of those businesses in the field of the bio farming in the CB area.
In this regard, the project envisages the implementation of three main activities – strategic analysis, strategic planning and promotion of the cross-border bio-area.
